Welcome to SFA Nature Based Solutions. We grow, manage and harvest renewable timber and use it to build new homes.

We’re part of Australia’s largest homebuilder’s - with brands including Metricon and Henley Homes.

We’re making a 30-year, $25 million investment in a renewable pine plantation in Bengworden, East Gippsland so we can build more Victorian homes with home-grown timber. Our plans include:

  • Planting almost 500,000 pine seedlings, generating 300,000m3 of renewable softwood timber – enough to build about 3,500 new homes

  • Capturing 90,000 tonnes of carbon emissions

  • Maintaining 40 per cent of the 792-hectare property for farming, grazing and conservation

  • Renovating and keeping the Gracemere homestead for housing

  • Continuing the site’s long history as a place of education about contemporary farming practices

  • Best-practice environmental, water, soil and bushfire management.
